Pain

"You have had enough." The first voice whispered, “You don't deserve this. You need to make a stand, make them pay for what they did!"
"No", the other voice followed, "You cannot! If you hurt them, there is no coming back."
"Stop!” He cried. “Stop it!"
"But they did it to him first. They are the reason for everything that's happening, he needs to fight. He needs to fight and make them pay for everything!"
"He is not going to, remember the past. You cannot let the history repeat itself. They will be punished, the Gods see everything."
"Then where were the Gods, when he was in pain? Where were they when he lost everything that once was dear to him? Gods, nowadays don’t help the innocents. You have to make them pay for their sins on your own. You have to hurt them the way they hurt you."
"No! Nooooooo!" Rolling on the floor, his hands clutching his ears in an unsuccessful attempt of stopping the voices, he screamed "Stop it. Please! .... Please make it Stop!!"
"Things will get back to as they were, don't do it. Don't let the darkness control you. You know what is wrong and what is right."
"Don't listen to it, the light doesn't hold the power to bring the justice to you; embrace the darkness. You have the strength to destroy the world, let us make you realize your powers. Make them pay for their actions, make them pay for what they did to you, do it for yourself, do it for...."
Thud, the marble statue near him was broken to pieces with his one punch, he straightened up and punched the wall near him. He threw another punch and then another, until his knuckles were black red with blood oozing out of them, and his hand hurt like he had broken a few bones.
He lied down, gasping for breath. He tried to open up his fists. He tried to uncurl his fingers and an excruciating pain erupted from his hand. But he didn’t cry or shed a tear, he smiled. He loved the pain, it had become a part of his life. It helped him differentiate between what’s real and what’s not. It helped him stop the voices.
